Dan Clarahan

Principal CNZ Solutions – Highly accomplished Fortune 100 Officer Level Executive with over 29 years of experience driving profitable growth in both domestic and international markets, and has demonstrated flexibility to work in large or small organizations. Strong, decisive, results-focused leader with expertise in development and delivery of business strategies; brand, product and technology development; operations leadership and multi-national organizational change and development. Dan formed CNZ Solutions in 2006 and is concurrently COO for a startup Bio-Energy company.

Dan has significant global business experience including six years of working and living in Europe and successful market commercialization of new/improved products in over 30 countries.  He holds 13 U.S. and numerous foreign patents and many of his roles centered on the engineering, development and successful commercial deployment of new products and process equipment. Dan has a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois and completed the Advanced Executive Program at the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Business.  Dan resides in Askeaton, Wisconsin.


Fred Guy

Fred is retired after 37 years of corporate and industrial experience with Atomic Energy of Canada and Kimberly-Clark. Fred held many management, engineering and process development roles throughout his career, and specialized in optimization of commercial processes in the paper and nuclear industries.  Fred holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.   Fred resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

CNZ Solutions LLC is a team with business, management, financial, product development and technical expertise to tackle almost any business challenge.   All of the team members have at least 25 years of business experience and most are retired and enjoying a second career tackling a variety of business and technical challenges. 
Paul Arnold

Paul is active in tissue technology and non-wovens consulting with 16 years of tissue making experience with Kimberly-Clark Corporation (K-C) and for Andritz, Austria and the NSC Group in France.  He has extensive knowledge in mechanical engineering and has a B.S. Degree from the Institut Gramme in Belgium; Paul has a good working knowledge of systematic innovation methods such as TRIZ.  Paul resides in Liverdun, France.

Dale Drabandt

Dale is an independent Certified Public Accountant who has been in practice since 1999.  He has worked in healthcare financial management for over 30 years prior to starting his own CPA practice.  He works with small to medium businesses to develop strategic plans, financial plans and establish and maintain their accounting systems. He has worked with several businesses to develop successful financial turnaround plans.  Dale resides in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Business Development & Facilitation

Our business development leader has a B.S. degree in Engineering and M.S. in Chemistry. He has 30 years of business development experience with Fortune 100 companies.  He has extensive global experience, and he lived overseas for four years.
Art Rankin

Art is retired and has 54 years of experience in the paper industry.  He holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering and an M.S. in Pulp & Paper from the University of Maine.  Art held positions in engineering, management and operations with Mead Corp., Beloit Corp., Crown Zellerbach Corp. and Appleton Papers.  Art remains active in consulting and holds board positions with the University of Minnesota Bioproducts and Engineering Council; UW Stevens Point Paper Science & Engineering Foundation; Engineering Foundation Advisory Council;  Paper Industry Hall of Fame and is the acting chairman of the PIMA - North Central Region.   Art resides in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Eugene Hoefs

Eugene has 31 years of corporate and industrial experience in paper coatings, inks and printing. Eugene's expertise is focused in paper coatings (carbon-less, direct thermal,
ink jet, printing inks) and on printing and imaging processes.  Eugene has held management positions in R& D and in manufacturing. Eugene has a PH. D. in physical chemistry and has six years of international post - doctoral experience.  Eugene resides in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Ron Gropp

Ron is retired after 49 years of business and industrial experience with Kimberly-Clark and a BASC Degree (ME) from Toronto University.  In his career with K-C Ron held many business management, engineering, development, and plant operations roles, he also has extensive experience in pulp, paper and power generation.  Since his retirement, Ron has been active in consulting in process and process hardware development and commercialization, with particular emphasis on the Pulp & Paper Industry.  Ron resides in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada.

Unfortunately, Ron passed away February 18th, 2009.  Ron will be sorely missed by all of us at CNZ; he was truly one of a kind.  He is survived by his wife Fran, three adult children and many grandchildren who have much to be proud of in Ron.

Mike Machurick

Mike is an experienced manufacturing/converting operations and logistics professional with nearly 30 years of industry experience with John Deere & Company and Kimberly-Clark Corp.  He has extensive U.S. and International experience in the management and execution of Operations, Supply Chain, Transportation, Packaging, 3rd Party Co-Packing, Project Management and Engineering.  He has also worked closely with various retailers including Wal*Mart, Sam’s, Kroger, Costco, SuperValu and Target as well as various 3PL’s such as Exel, Genco, DSC and Kane. 

Mike earned a B.S. in Industrial Technology and holds six U.S. Patents for manufacturing equipment design, product design and packaging design.  He is experienced with LEAN manufacturing principles, is a Six Sigma Green Belt and is a regular presenter at trade shows.  Mike resides in Little Chute, WI.
